Each period contributes energy in proportion to its duration. The sum is normalized to a nominal eight-hour workday.

Action values

80 and 85 dB(A)

The EU model uses lower and upper action values of 80 and 85 dB(A). These values trigger workplace duties; they are not personal safety guarantees.
